Poros - Galatas
Today we made a swift check-out of the boat, everything was ok.
After saying goodbye to the Greek-Sails-team we crossed the Poros-canal to the town of Galatas.
Here we rented a large appartment in the Villa Seagulls View, for week of relaxing.
From our apt. we have the most magnificent view over Poros-bay and Methana.

Poros

Today we sailed out in the Poros-bay for a relaxing sail-swim-day.
We anchored in Russian-bay for a nice afternoon of swimming and snorkeling.
There are a lot of yachts in the bay for the moment (ca. 10-15), eg. in the month of May there were max. 4 yachts here.
At 1800 we sailed back to base for our last night on board.
At night we had a wonderfull diner at the Meze-Meze taverna. Later on that night the owner played and sung nice Greek-music ... simply superb ... Oppa !!!

Poros

Today we stayed in Poros due to the heavy wind, on one of the pictures you can see the sea building up in Limin Poros, otherwise a quiet inner-sea.
So the North-quays are not so good sheltered with this weather, the South-quay in the Poros-canal gives the best shelter, that's why it's so popular now, yachts are triple moored today.
We took our car and visited the Peloponnese eg. Palea Epidavros.

For tommorow the wind is even gonna increase a bit.
At night we surprisingly stumbled on a sailingpal with his girlfriend, Freddy & Carole.
He has to bring back his yacht to Lavrion by Friday. We didn't know he was in Greece. It's a small world.

Spetses - Hydra - Poros

Today we got an early start, because we wanted to have a space in Hydra.
Halfway there a large bottlenose dolphin swam along our yacht, for a short time.
At 1230h we arrived in Hydra, we were wondered ... there wasn't any place left, as well on the north- as the south-quay everything was full, at some places they were even parked in double rows !
Because for the next 3 days they predict strong northerly winds force 5-6 with gusts up to 7 Bf, we deciced to go to the GreekSails quay in Poros ... a save refuge.
First we made a swimstop at the Monastery-bay on Poros.
At 1800h we moored alongside at the GS-quay in Poros.
In the evening we had a very tastefull diner at the Poseidon-taverna ... as always top quality.

Ermioni - Spetses

After a quiet night we left Ermioni at 1030h.
Early afternoon we anchored in Ormos Metochi for a swim and a lunch on board ... typical holiday-sailing !
At 1500h we entered Or. Baltiza on Poros, but nearly every space was taken.
Luckely we found some space at the small quay of the Nireas-shipyard.
It's a long way by foot to Spetses town (ca.30 min.), but that's no problem.
After we had diner in town, we took the horsewagon back to the old harbour (10 €).
A nice experience.

Poros - Ermioni
Wind : 2-3 Bf NNE / Late afternoon SE
Weather : sunny 31 ºC
After a breakfast, we took to the sea at 1100h.
We had nice lazy sunday-sail across the Hydra-gulf towards Ermioni.
For most of the time we sailed a broad reach.
At 1600h we moored up at the North-harbour in Ermioni. Due to the SE-wind there was an uncomfortable swell in the harbour ... at night it died down.
One notices that it is highseason, there are a lot of people in the tavernas, all over town.
We had a nice diner with a view at the Kavos-taverna.

After a long travelling-day we arrived at good old Poros ... let the holiday begin.
When arrived at the GreekSails-base we got the news that we got upgraded to a Sun Odyssey 32 ... nice. Our yacht "Isis" seemed to be in good condition.
Again one has to say, Greek Sails has one of the niced bases of all chartercompanies in Greece !
At night we had a superb diner at the Apagio, again. Liz & Spiros know how to treat their guests.
